Ex-education board member plans bid for U.S. Senate seat

Greg Dagani, a former member of the Nevada Board of Education who resigned in 2008 after making out with his wife during a public meeting, said Monday that he will run for the U.S. Senate in 2010.

Dagani, who was known as Greg Nance before he adopted his wife's last name, said he will make a formal announcement today after a Family Court hearing.

The hearing involves allegations made by his mother-in-law, Joan Albstein, that Dagani is an "undue influence" on his wife, Sharona Dagani, who has cerebral palsy.

Greg Dagani will run as a Republican in a primary that includes Sue Lowden, former chairwoman of the state Republican Party; Danny Tarkanian, a former UNLV basketball star; and state Sen. Mark Amodei, R-Carson City.

The candidates are competing to face Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the general election.

Greg Dagani served with Reid's daughter-in-law, Cindy Reid, on the state Board of Education. She was the board member who halted a meeting in August, 2008 to complain about Dagani's behavior with his wife.

Cindy Reid also made Dagani rescind several of his votes on issues because he had slept through the policy discussions.

Yes, but the LVRJ neglected to mention Four-term former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle, the most experienced candidate in the field and the candidate that scored substantially higher in recent polls than the state senator from Carson City. Sharron Angle is the only bonafide conservative entered in the Republican Primary to date. She is also highly principled - something rare in political realms.

I applaud Cindy wrote on November 10, 2009 04:09 PM: Cindy Reid I applaud you for standing up for decency and whats right. You've got to be kidding me, we are now questing whether Cindy did the right thing when she halted a regent meeting because Dagani was making out with his wife?? How the hell is she part of this story? I can't believe this guy would even think of running for the Senate. Is there anybody normal that can serve in public office?

This guy is great!
I would vote for him! But then again, I am also sure that 2012 is the end of the world.

Seriously though, there is no one better for Nevada.

Thank You wrote on November 10, 2009 08:04 AM: To Greg Nance/Dagani:

Thank you for coming back into the public realm. I really enjoyed reading the entertaining articles about you making out with your handicapped wife at NV Board of Education meetings, and I hope there's more entertainment in store.
