Fiore to run for Assembly instead of state Senate

LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL CAPITAL BUREAU
CARSON CITY -- Las Vegas businesswoman Michele Fiore announced Thursday that she will be a Republican candidate next year for the Assembly District 4 seat in northwest Las Vegas.
"Like never before, our state needs people with strong conservative values and real-world experience in creating jobs and making payroll to step in and provide solutions to Nevada's problems," Fiore said in a statement.
Fiore, who ran unsuccessfully for Congress last year, had announced her candidacy for the new state Senate District 18 seat. But with Republican Assembly members Scott Hammond and Richard McArthur running for that seat, Fiore decided to make a bid for the seat McÂArthur is giving up in the Assembly.
Democrats hold a slight -- 1.3 percentage point -- voter registration advantage over Republicans in District 4, generally north of Craig Road at Rancho Road. No Democrats as yet have announced their candidacies.
When she was planning to run for state Senate, Fiore, 41, said she met with McArthur, whom she called a "proven conservative stalwart."
She now endorses his candidacy, and McArthur has endorsed her for his Assembly seat. Former Gov. Robert List also has endorsed Fiore.
While not using the word endorsement, Assemblyman Harvey Munford, D-Las Vegas, sent a letter praising Fiore for her run.
"In difficult economic times such as these, we need representatives who are committed to working together for the good of all Nevadans, not just for one party or the other," Munford said.
Fiore said she is excited about working with all legislators, including "across party lines to get Nevada back on track."

Harvey, what is the REAL story you are giving an apparent endorsement to a Republican? Time to leave the Democratic party or retire?
From wiki:
Hospice is the only Medicare benefit that includes pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, twenty-four hour/seven day a week access to care and support for loved ones following a death. Hospice care is also covered by Medicaid and most private insurance plans. Most hospice care is delivered at home.
Yeah, she's just another "less government" Republican who "earns" a living as a government contractor. In Fiore's case, by leeching off HHS.
Now you know why Republicans are such BIG supporters of Medicare.
Next.
Her company provides in-home hospice care.
Jesse Ventura for President in 2012!!!
This woman is intentionally vague about her employment history. My sense is that she is just another mealy-mouthed Republican who works as a government contractor. As an effector of the executive branch, she is constitutionally INELIBLE to serve.
But constitutional provisions never mattered to Bobby "Lobby" List. The RJ has reported that it was none other than List himself who wrote the AG opinion that it was OK for government workers to serve.
It's been government OF the bureaucrats, BY the bureaucrats, and FOR the bureaucrats ever since.
ANOTHER CONSERVATIVE SKIRT ? YAWN.
