Arizona authorities allege former NBA basketball player Samaki Walker tried to eat marijuana as a Department of Public Safety officer approached his 2002 Mercedes-Benz during a traffic stop Thursday in Kingman.

Officials said about 10 grams of marijuana was seized from the vehicle with some prescription drugs and eight bottles of liquid steroids.

Walker cooperated with officers at the Mohave County Jail, police said. Walker indicated he uses steroids to improve his athletic ability because he still plays professionally in Syria.

Walker indicated the steroids are legal in Syria, but possession is a misdemeanor in Arizona, police said.

The Woodland Hills, Calif., resident was a college superstar at the University of Louisville before he was drafted ninth in the first round of the 1996 NBA draft by Dallas. His 10-year NBA career ended in 2006 after stints with the Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers.

Walker was booked on drug charges; bond was set at $2,000, and an Aug. 5 preliminary hearing was set.

Do YOU really feel threatened by this guy? I don't. This guy is a non-violent criminal, and we should stop wasting taxpayer resources on this kind of bs.

Why should Marijuana be illegal? Or why should the possession of steroids be illegal? Why? It gives the PIGS more power, that's why.

He's not very smart either, doesn't he know that marijuana is much more effective when you smoke it, instead of eating it?! Duh!!

This guy must be REALLY stupid if he thought he could 'blend in' in the drug world of little old Kingman, Arizona. After all, being a 6'9" black guy is pretty easy to not be noticed...

Bob: Other than the fact that Mr. Walker would have to cross over the Pat Tilman Bridge to get to Vegas from Kingman what the h.e. double hockey-sticks does that have to do with an ex-nba player getting busted on a pot charge? Stay on topic dude.

Who? @Oscar.Jones, if I may add officers of the United States military to that list. Before the "prove it" crowd jumps in we have a case perfect for examination; Pat Tillman, may you rest in peace my brother, and his family were given a BS story to cover up the mistakes of a unit that had a commander ripe for promotion. Fratricide does happen and it is a sad thing but when the person in charge is not held responsible we are spitting on the grave of a brave soldier who paid the ultimate price. What became of the commander who was caught falsifying documents and also falsified statements concerning the death of Pat Tillman? He was promoted twice, degraded the President of the United States (UCMJ violation) in a public interview, was fired and brought back as the head of the CIA. So if I may include military officers Oscar.Jones, please appreciate it. http://www.militarycorruption.com/index.html
