Las Vegas Veterans Memorial


Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Ross fires a rare Karl Gustav M-45 sub-machine gun Friday at the Desert Sportsman Rifle and Pistol Club off West Charleston Boulevard. A non-profit group will host a two-day American Heroes Challenge beginning 7 a.m. today at the club to raise money for the Las Vegas Veterans Memorial. The city has endorsed building a world class memorial at Huntridge Circle Park, a feat that event organizer Mike Millet hopes can be accomplished by Veterans Day 2010. The event, free to the public, will feature a dozen teams from the military, law enforcement and first responder community competing in combat search and hostage rescue, firearm skills and physical fitness.

    Would Jesus have preferred .45 ACP or .223 in full-auto applications / scenarios?

    I take it the old boys in the photo are part of the physical fitness team.
