Justice Courts in nine townships outside Las Vegas have begun accepting traffic fines and court payments online.

Clark County Justice Court administrators say the program started last week should streamline payment processing from courts in North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Bunkerville, Goodsprings, Laughlin, Moapa, Moapa Valley and Searchlight.

Officials say those nine courts processed almost $8 million in payments for citations and other court matters in fiscal 2010.

All those payments were made in person or by U.S. mail.

The new system works through the e-Payments menu on the Clark County website at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov.

Courts in the busy Township of Las Vegas already accept online payments.
