LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
Two robbery suspects were arrested Wednesday morning after they shot at officers during a high-speed chase along the valley streets and freeways, Las Vegas police said.
Kyle Knights, 18, and Richard Anthony Sanchez, 19, were caught about 2 a.m. after officers performed a Precision Intervention Technique, a PIT, to spin and stall their truck on U.S. Highway 95 near Eastern Avenue.
Both men were taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries. They later were booked at the Clark County jail on charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary with a deadly weapon.
Knights also had a warrant for battery with a deadly weapon from a prior incident.
The men were suspects in armed robberies at a Rebel convenience store, 4220 E. Sahara Ave., at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday and a Green Valley Grocery store, 5785 E. Charleston Blvd., about an hour later, police said.
They were in Sanchez's white construction truck when a patrol officer tried to stop the vehicle about 1 a.m. near Sahara and Nellis Boulevard, police said.
A chase ensued, and throughout the pursuit, Sanchez leaned out from the window and fired at officers, police said. No police were injured.
Sanchez either dropped or threw the gun out the window, police said. The gun later was found by police.
A woman in the truck was taken to UMC for examination, although police said she was not injured. She has not been charged.
Sanchez's criminal history includes arrests for assault, attempted murder and drug trafficking.

To anyone on here that does not know these boys; keep your opinion to yourselves! Who are you to judge sumeone else? Only God can judge! Let the family grieve without having to see stupid comments from strangers! This has devestated a lot of people! I just ask if anything pray for the boys and thank God no one got hurt!!!! Look inside your heart, find God and know he can only judge, NOT YOU!
For the record, they're not tweakers. I just think everyone should keep their opinion to themselves if you don't have something better to say about it. I know NOTHING good came out of this but, we all have some issue in our life or a family member who does, am I wrong? although, Kudos to Metro! I am a fan and am very proud of your work because people could have been hurt! Thank you for all you do and for not taking it to another level of harm.
Now why didn't Metro shoot and kill these losers? It would of been justified! Now we gotta pay to keep these punks fed, clothed and in prison.
!9 years old and already has an extensive criminal record, looks like a wasted life well into the making.
NO LOSEE HERE,EXCEPT THERE ARE PLEANTY MORE WHERE THESE TWO LOSERS CAME FROM.
too crazy! dang tweekers!
Good job Metro, thanks for making our streets a little safer...
@jslv....Well if you are right and Carpenter gets on the stand denies being order to end the pursuit and the DA has no evidence to support the accusation that he disobeyed orders and maintained unsafe speeds in a pursuit that eventually took a the life of one man an injured local woman, then I will be the first to publicly apologize for that. However, if that is the case and then the integrity of Sgt. David Toney and we should take a better look at look at last month's shooting that saw Toney kill Mauricio Hernandez. Right now it looks like a couple of rogue cops, but it seems you are telling throwing quite an accusation at Metro, claiming this is nothing but a department out to get Carpenter. That would require a lot of dishonesty on the art of a lot of cops. Watch out, that's going to seem like a cop-hating to a lot of people here. And jslv, I understand that you are the kind of person that thinks that anyone who doesn't agree with must be illiterate. So I will forgive you for the remark about my not being able to read an affidavit.
