Lawsuit challenges latest Nevada abortion initiative

CARSON CITY -- A new lawsuit is challenging the latest personhood initiative that seeks to ban abortions in Nevada.

The lawsuit filed Tuesday in state court in Carson City argues the "prenatal person" initiative is confusing and doesn't adequately explain to voters the effect it would have on birth control or other medical procedures.

The proposed constitutional amendment pushed by a group called the Nevada Prolife Coalition would ban birth control, embryonic stem cell research, in vitro fertilization or other procedures that intentionally kill a fetus.

No exceptions are made to allow abortions for pregnancies that occur from rape or incest.

Stop forcing your values on others. It's not for anybody to deside when it's considered murder. If it's murder and you believe in god it's his job to jude the actions of the person. If you do not believe in god then it's not murder.

Returning to pre-Roe v Wade does not endanger mother's lives.
Women had aborions in hospitals before Roe V Wade. I had an abortion in a Catholic Hospital before 1973. Planned Parenthood has always lied to us. Google abortions and see what the murder of trapped, helpless, innocent persons looks like. 53 million persons deprived of 14th ammendment protection is too high a price for our narcissism. The state has an obligation to the next generation to protect the sanctity of life and marriage. Not about us but about next generation. Duh!

What a flipping joke! When are you people going to stay out of other people's bedrooms and lives?! Live your own life. It's not for you to "save the unborn" of other people. You probably have no problem with criminals getting the death penalty though. Hypocrites!

Wait until it's you, your wife, your sister, your friend in the hospital early in pregnancy, told you have a life threatening condition and your baby won't make it. You won't survive either without terminating the pregnancy, and if you do choose to risk it, you most likely will have a major stroke and end up a vegetable. I've been there - twice. My medical records say I've had two abortions. This initiative needs to be exceptionally clear so that people know what they are supporting.

Women should be allowed to decide for themselves the issue of abortion. Time and time again one sees a predominance of Caucasian males (who pretty much make up the profile of abortion clinic bombers and the like) attempt to foist their viewpoints onto everyone. It's too bad these self-proclaimed males can't be implanted with the fetuses brought on by incest and rape (oftentimes brutal in nature) - then they could feel, at least a bit, what women must be going through that are FORCED to go full term. LET WOMEN DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES!

mrs.ed: why so upset? Nevadans were forced to vote every year on smoking bans until enough liberals/statists had the votes to pass it. You didn't squawk then, what's different now?
You must be a baby killer. How's that working out for you?

I agree with every comment so far..and I am one of the conservatives. I am Pro-life...I am Pro-choice for you. Trying to redefine, revisit, and make a new issue of this...should be "aborted". This is in TOTAL BAD taste.
Take this time, money and effort, if you want to step back in time, and open a "Home for Unwed" mothers, a supper adoption center, education, obviously parents have not gotten the idea of how to teach this yet, and, I want to see every one of these people with 4 or 5 babies on their hips. Adopted.

Government BY the lawyers, FOR the lawyers.

Read the constitution. Determining whether a ballot initiative is "confusing" is a prerogative exclusively of the PEOPLE.

Any judge who agrees to hear this case deserves to be RECALLED. I would answer such judge's request for arguments by sending him a letter asking him to sign the recall petition thereby enclosed.

Hey anti-abortion idiots.... the Supreme Court ruled abortions legal a long time ago, you lost! Get over it and go home!
