In North Las Vegas, two more candidates threw their hats in the ring Wednesday for the open Municipal Court Department 1 judgeship.
Clark County Deputy Public Defender Laurie Diefenbach, who ran unsuccessfully in 2008 for a District Court judgeship, filed for candidacy Wednesday.
So did Donishia Campbell, who also is an attorney for the public defender's office.
They will face Marsha Kimble-Simms, an attorney with her own law firm, and Catherine Ramsey, a North Las Vegas deputy city attorney in the criminal division.
Judge Warren VanLandschoot is retiring from the Department 1 seat in June.
In Henderson, former City Councilman Ron Hubel filed to run for the Ward 4 seat, where he will face former Henderson Police Chief Mike Mayberry.
Debra March registered to keep her Ward 2 seat and is being challenged by John Simmons, a former city construction manager.
And Ray Mollinado filed for the Ward 1 race, bringing the number of candidates in that contest to three.
In Boulder City, Roger Tobler filed to run for re-election as mayor.

Only in Las Vegas can a person go law school, yet know nothing of law and then become a judge without any qualifications what so ever. In Las Vegas people are gambling with thier lives when they go to the court house for justice, when in fact they recieve incompetence that will seriously alter thier lives forever.
I think one of the Maloof brothers should run for mayor.
