A spokesman for MGM Mirage says the company won't contribute to the campaign of Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Sandoval, despite Sandoval saying it was a possibility.

During a meeting Thursday with the editorial board of the Review-Journal, Sandoval said he met with MGM Mirage chairman and CEO Jim Murren and Murren "indicated to me they would consider supporting me."

Asked whether that meant just Murren, or Murren and MGM Mirage, Sandoval said "both."

Such a contribution would be noteworthy because MGM Mirage typically donates to just one candidate per race and already has pledged support to Rory Reid, the Democratic candidate in the race, chairman of the Clark County Commission and son of Democratic Senate majority leader Harry Reid.

But when told of the statements by Sandoval, MGM Mirage spokesman Alan Feldman said the company is sticking with Reid.

"While we hold Brian Sandoval in very high regard, MGM Mirage is exclusively supporting Rory Reid for Governor," Feldman wrote of the company, which supported Gov. Jim Gibbons in 2006. Gibbons is now running well behind Sandoval in the Republican primary.

"We believe that Nevada needs new leadership and, as a company, made the decision early on to support one candidate," Feldman said, adding. "Our executives and employees often participate in campaigns individually, a practice we encourage. In that regard, the Murrens may personally participate in the campaigns of both Rory and Brian. That's a personal decision for any individual or family to make. But as a company, we are exclusively committed to Commissioner Reid."

Sandoval said he has raised more than $500,000 since entering the race in September. Reid reportedly has raised $3 million in cash and pledged support.

Campaign finance reports are due to be filed with the Nevada Secretary of State Jan. 15.

Until MGM Mirage decides that it's not going to back corrupt socialist politicians such as Harry Reid they won't receive a dime of my hard earned money.

NOTE TO "Do your homework": Interesting insight, and good fodder for discussion. But then again, there are always the wild cards in Nevada, that nobody can predict. Only time will tell . . .

Reids will go. Both Harry and Rory will be bounced out of politics in their next elections.

MGM/Mirage, you're fading the wrong horse. America loves freedom more than "mommie knows best". STOP with the political correctness pandemic. We all know it's an empty suit.

The Reids are toast. Back to searchlight, you crooks/communist!

The MGM is an overpriced, glittery rip-off, whose machines seldom make larger payouts. Their Copperfield show is worth about 30 bucks, yet they charge over 100 bucks. My family and I ate at Wolfgang Pucks and were greatly disappointed paying Premium prices for miniature sized entrees (everyone agreed that the portions were ridiculously tiny) with the salad and bread costing extra. The water glass filler guy was at the table 7 or so times, and I paid top prices for being crowded into a very small space to eat a kid-sized entree, with lots of water. I also ate at Craftsteak steakhouse. My brother and his wife were in town, and treated me to dinner there. All I wanted was a Porterhouse Steak and a baked potato with a small salad. The Steak was 80.00, no baked potato's. You instead got their Potato Medley, which was mashed Potatoes with seasoning. It sucked, and the steak, ordered medium-well was medium-rare I sent it back, and it came back well-done. Very unacceptable for an 80 dollar steak. By the way, the salad was extra, and so was the bread, which was pre-sliced, and dried out. My guess, is that bread is sliced well in advance, and waits to be served (stale) The MGM is an overpriced joke for Posers who want to say they stayed there, or call their friends and family from there to say they are Dining there, but the quality is not there. You can't fool a Local, and Posers don't know the difference since they are all about Brand Names and Image anyhow. And don't go by Newspaper Reviews, or Local Magazine Reviews that are comped and the reviews are paid for with additional comps to the hotels services and shows. MGM Sucks.

A few articles in todays RJ, sum Harry up pretty neatly.

He's using U.S. tax dollars (bailout money for MGM City Center) as supplemental re-election campaign funding.

His minion AG Mastos, will ignore the unconstitutional piece of garbage, aka as Harry's health care legislation. And sell Nevada out, with his blessings.

And he's an PR nightmare for the State of Nevada. Obama slurred Las Vegas, Reid did nothing, but understandably, after Reid comments about tourists in D.C., I completely understand him representing a state that depends in tourism..

    Loser.....

So, what I'm understanding gary, to be saying, is that MY TAX DOLLARS (MGM Mirage bailout funding) are being used, in addition, to Harry's campaign funding (25 million, in his war chest)to buy votes, to get Harry re-elected.

An article, regarding Harry's slur, has spoken about Obama helping Reid raise campaign funding. IS IT MY TAX DOLLARS, REID WON'T HAVE TO REPORT? Sorta like money under the table, but really in your face? Because Harry bought off the MGM Mirage organiztion with MY TAX DOLLARS.

    MGM Mirage and Reid $uck.
