A North Las Vegas police officer arrested in July on six counts of felony credit card fraud no longer is an employee with the department.

Police said Benjamin Miles Cordova, 40, with the department for six years, no longer works for the department after an internal investigation concluded Thursday.

Police did not specify whether Cordova was fired or resigned. They said the results of the internal investigation wouldn't be released, saying it's a personnel matter.

In late July, Cordova was arrested by his own department on three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and three counts of receiving property obtained by unlawful use of a credit card.

The arrest followed a seven-day internal investigation after a complaint was filed regarding the disappearance of a department credit card.

The amount charged to the credit card was not released.

Cordova was placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation. He was the fourth North Las Vegas police officer to be arrested in an eight-month span.

In December, James Vernon Clayton, 40, was arrested on five counts of misconduct of a police officer, two counts of oppression under color of office and one count of open and gross lewdness in connection with the alleged coercion of women into performing sex acts to get out of traffic tickets.

In January, Mark Alan Miles and James F. Balelo, both 27, were arrested on charges of filing a false police report by a public officer, a gross misdemeanor. Miles was also charged with oppression under color of office, a felony.

Clayton, Miles and Balelo are no longer employed with North Las Vegas police.

P.S/ Interesting how the 'Journal' and other media failed to complete a follow-up report, as to the final outcome of the Cordova case. Hmmmm.

For all of you 'Cordova' Haters out there, you should know that I'm alive and well! It's been an interesting past year and what occurred with the NLVPD was an absolute blessing! The entire incident was politically motivated and blown out of proportion, as many NLVPD personnel already knew. It's a shame others passed judgement on me, so quickly. I thank my 'friends' and 'family' for standing by me, I appreciated your support and forgive your animosity towards me. Don't believe everything you read or hear and try not to judge others, until you walk in their shoes. I overcame and I am still standing/ 'A person usually criticizes the individual whom he secretly envies'

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THE POLICE ARE CALLED 'AMERICA'S FINEST'?
SEEMS THAT TITLE SHOULD GO TO OUR YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE RISKING THEIR LIVES IN THE SERVICE. MY OPINION OF THE MAJORITY OF LAW ENFORCEMENT ARE SELF SERVING, TESTOSTERONE LOADED, ADRENALIN JUNKIES REVENUERS. THEY LOVE TO HARRASS AND INTIMIDATE. THEY UNIONIZE AND EXTORT HUGE SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR THEMSELVES. APPARENTLY QUITE A FEW OF THEM ARE CROOKS WITH SIDE BUSINESSES. I KNOW SEVERAL POLICEMEN. NONE OF THEM WOULD BE WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER A STELLER CITIZEN.
    THEY HAVE LOST MY RESPECT.
