A Nye County official was targeted during a home invasion Saturday night, the Nye County sheriff's office said Sunday.

The sheriff's office said Nye County Public Administrator Robert Jones was at his Pahrump home on Black Street when four to six people, dressed in black and wearing ski masks, entered with shotguns and handguns.

Jones was tied up after he fought with the perpetrators, who took property from his home, the sheriff's office said. The home invasion occurred between 9 and 10 p.m. The sheriff's office didn't detail what was taken.

The suspects included both men and women. Investigators think Jones was targeted because of his government post.

"This attack appears to not be a random act of violence but an isolated intentional act against Jones because of his official capacity," a statement from the sheriff's office said.

The perpetrators should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.

Maybe the ex DA got himself a crew together to exact revenge. Don't worry these kinds of "professional criminals" usually run a stop sign in front of a cop or drive around without license plates I doudt it will take too long to catch one and they will roll on the rest.

Pahrump is out of control. Definitely time for the Feds or DPS to step in.

They will get 2 years in the pen, get out on parole and commit another crime. Maybe kill a kid like what happened last week. The guy who killed that 15 year old girl was already in prison for manslaughter and got realesed. Once someone is a felon, always a felon. Our justice system is broken.

Let's assume the home invaders didn't know their victim was a County official. If they end up getting a tougher sentence because of it, so be it...it would all work out for he best. At this point I just want them captured, I want the rest of their lives to be destroyed with no forgiveness from anyone.

Do any bloggers know if Nye County District Judge Lane is open to hearing cases of public corruption? Is the Nye County District Court Administration capable of getting filed, date-stamped documents to judges? Neither is occurring in Clark County. Therefore, we are seeking a District Court that is capable of the above.

Nye County cant arrest 4-6 suspects that is a quarter of the population.
