A 38-year-old Las Vegas Academy teacher was arrested last week on charges of fondling a student, and police are now asking for the public's help in identifying other possible victims.

Ronny Scott Hoffman, 38, was arrested on one count of felony coercion and three counts of open and gross lewdness, a gross misdemeanor.

The victim, a female student, accused Hoffman, a French teacher, of fondling her in a women's bathroom at the school in October or November of 2007, according to his Las Vegas police arrest report. The academy is a public magnet school in downtown Las Vegas that focuses on performing and visual arts and international studies.

Hoffman denied the incident took place, the report states. He did say he hugged the girl once and that "maybe when he had hugged her he had felt the side of her breasts as his hands went behind her back," according to the report.

Hoffman has been removed from the classroom since May, according to police. Clark County School District officials said he has been placed on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation. He has been with the district since September 2001. District officials would not say what other schools, if any, he has worked at.

Anybody who has information about other potential victims is encouraged to call the department's sexual assault section at 828-3421.

    @justthefacts,

    Actually in your great search for wisdom. Please tell me when I ever said anything about race when a black person is arrested for a crime unless that person is an illegal alien.

    You seem to be the one that has a racial problems.
    Illegal aliens of any race that commit crimes, is where I’m very outspoken about.
    So the hatefulness is in your own instigating nature.

    Yea, a half million dollar home, now I really know besides hateful, you are a comedian.

    Joe C, I own this computer and a half million dollar home. No underpasses for me. I, like many others, feel compelled to address the keyboard kkk members like yourself who don't make an issue of race when the perp is white. Nothing hateful about that. The truth hurts, doesn't it?

    He said he may have hugged the girl once and when he hugged her had felt the side of her breasts.
    Wow does he really believe that BS will fly.
    You had to go a long way around to grab the side of her breasts, oh, on accident. I find that hard to believe. I’ll bet he gets elbow feels in crowed bars by accident also.

    @justthefacts,
    Go crawl back under the highway overpass where you live and stop using the libraries computers to spread your hate.

    In honor of the race baiters who make disparaging remarks on any story involving minorities that run afoul of the law, one of your brethren is hard at work maintaining the legacy of sexing up vulnerable, under age children. What do you have to say about that? (crickets chirping) I thought so.
