A man was killed Tuesday night after being struck by at least one vehicle near Boulder Station, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the deceased man was not released.

Lt. Mark Reddon said the incident occurred at 6:03 p.m. near the hotel-casino near Boulder Highway and Lamb Boulevard. Reddon said initial reports are that the man, who was not in a crosswalk, was hit by a pickup. Another vehicle also might have struck the man, but the driver of that vehicle fled, Reddon said.

The man died at the scene.

After reading so many stories regarding pedestrian accidents in this area, I wonder why the casinos don't come forward and install bridge walkways to accomodate the large number of locals who frequent their facilities on a regular basis. There are more pedestrians and cyclists in Las Vegas now than ever before, especially in our current economic climate, with so many people unable to afford a vehicle. We all need to be more diligent, drivers and pedestrians alike, and most importantly.....SLOW DOWN!

SPARKY2, IT'S SO GREAT TO SEE THAT YOU KNOW HOW TO TYPE WITH YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY ON. IT MAKES YOU A SMART GENIOUS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU WROTE, BUT I'M SURE IT'S NOT IMPORTANT. ESPECIALLY WRITING WITH YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY ON. DID I TELL YOU ABOUT MY DAY? I DROPPED MY SON OFF AT DAYCARE, WENT TO THE GYM, DROPPED OFF MAIL AT UPS, TOOK MY STAFF OUT FOR LUNCH, AND THEN PICKED UP MY SON. YEAH... IF YOU READ ALL THIS BY NOW, I GUESS YOU REALLY DO LOVE THE CAPS LOCK KEY.

WOW!, he was killed by a casino the paper had to identify? How about just identifying the cross streets as well as where the contact was made and where the jay-walker came to rest? The incident happened at 1803, when did the Coroner show up to pronounce death?
