RENO -- The brother of a 67-year-old Nevada man who was sentenced to 14 years in prison for possession of child pornography said Wednesday the punishment was harsher than the crime warrants.

U.S. District Court Judge Robert Jones sentenced Douglas Roth of Reno on Tuesday, saying he is a threat to society unable to overcome his "irresistible" urges to view images of children being sexually abused .

Brian Roth, a 65-year-old retired businessman in Fremont, Calif., said in an interview Wednesday that his brother deserved to be sent to prison but shouldn't serve more time than some convicted killers. He said he is suffering from liver and prostate cancer and mostly likely will die in prison.

To make matters worse this creep and his brother went in court and said this was because of the abuse their mother did to them, …. I this the same mother they have contact with as grown men…. Give me a break Doug got much less than he dissevered he should have been put away a long time ago for what he did to those little girls and to think for the last 10 years I would tell his partner “give Dougie our love” well Brian tell “Dougie we hope he rots” And for Doug to say at least he did not act out like he did in the past is a slap in the face to all. Well if you believe in karma at least the fact he got prostate cancer he could not hurt anymore little girls. Too bad our tax dollars will got to treat his cancer. Enjoy visiting your brother in jail for life

And to find out he will be a Club Fed - The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood in Littleton, Colorado, is a low security facility housing male offenders for all the lives he distroyed he needs to rot in hell not club fed. Shame on the state of California for not putting this creep on the sex offenders registry to protect the rest of us out there that came across this person later in life.

He is doing 14 years in a federal pen, which means he will have to searve 85% of his senteenc3, which is better then Nevada, where he might have to only searve one third. I read in the Reno Gazette-Journal that this POS has previously been convicted of kidnapping and sexual assault on a child. If so, he needs to die in prison, and preferrably sooner instead of later.

mrnoitall is absolutely correct. This crapbag has done something worse than murder to his victims. They will have to live with this abuse in their psyches long after this low life is out of prison or dies.
