Reno police shoot rock thrower in leg
Tools
RENO -- A possible robbery suspect accused of throwing rocks at two officers trying to catch him was shot in the leg in Reno.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital after the Monday shooting near the downtown casino district. He was recovering Tuesday and his injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Officers determined the man matched a description of a suspect who fled a robbery. They told the man to stop before he started throwing rocks, Reno police spokesman Steve Frady said.
Initial reports indicate the officers opened fire after one of them was hit by a rock, Frady said.
"A rock can be a lethal weapon," Frady said. "Obviously both officers felt their lives were in danger."

well its now public record, you can shot and kill anyone for throwing rocks.
Good thing he lived in Reno. He'd have been dead quicker than sh** here. Maybe Reno 911 deputies are just bad shots.
Rock on!
Don't bring a rock to a gun fight.
LVMPD would have killed him, no doubt.
