A Hollywood-based website reported Sunday that Kim Kardashian's 31st birthday party at Marquee nightclub at The Cosmopolitan was marred by an outbreak of booing.

Jason Strauss, who operates Marquee, Tao and Lavo, disputes the report, saying the response on Friday was more Beatle-esque than negative.

He didn't hear any booing, but if it happened it, Strauss said, it "wouldn't be accurate" to characterize it as an incident if only a handful of boo-birds were involved.

"The majority was going wild," Strauss said. "We had to double up security because so many were trying to get closer to her."

He said the reaction was closer to "when crowds clamored to get near The Beatles."

HollywoodLife.com reported that after the initial booing, Kardashian's sister, Khloe, "tried to calm the crowd down, but unfortunately when she took the mic the rowdy crowd got even louder."

Kim's birthday group also included her husband, Kris Humphries, Khloe's husband, Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers, mom Kris Jenner and Kim's former "Dancing with the Stars" partner Mark Ballas.

The tabloidy report suggested that Kim Kardashian's fans may be turning on her because she was "getting a ton of bad press lately" because of rumors about her months-old marriage "and the fact that people seem fed up with her."

That claim isn't reflected in Kardashian's Twitter followers. She's second only to Britney Spears with 7.4 million followers, and is gaining 80,000 new fans a day compared with Spears' 64,000.

Last week, first lady Michelle Obama made headlines when she indicated President Barack Obama doesn't approve of their daughters watching the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" reality show.
