A middle school teacher who authorities said shot at a television show crew early Tuesday was upset about them parking in front of his home, according to a police report released Friday.

Carlos Enrique Barron, 40, a special education teacher at Smith Middle School, was arrested on several charges, including attempted murder.

The report said Barron grabbed a gun about 9:45 p.m. and confronted the crew of "Repo Games," which airs on Spike TV.

Witnesses told police that Barron was upset over the crew's security van parking in front of his home, on the 2900 block of Vigilante Court, near Centennial Parkway and Losee Road. A production van and tow truck were also at the scene.

Barron slapped one of the crew's security officers and pulled out a gun, according to the report. He fired at least three shots, but nobody was injured, the report said.

By the time North Las Vegas police arrived, Barron had retreated into his home. Officers caught him escaping out of the back and jumping over a wall. A police dog took him down. Barron told officers he brought the gun out because he recently had a car stolen from his driveway, but he denied firing at the crew.

The film crew was at the scene looking for a neighbor's vehicle. Original reports said that Barron was upset over his car being repossessed.

Barron has been with the Clark County School District since 2002. He has been removed from the classroom and suspended with pay while the allegations are investigated, a district spokesman said.

    Guru...I agree with you.

Aw, just look at the expression on his face... He feels sorry, and sad for what he did. Okay, so he shot-off three rounds, he didn't hit anybody, did he? (I wonder where those 3 stray bullets landed? Oh, well). And so what if he slapped a security guard. He was only caught up in the moment, to coin a popular phrase. And above all else, he's a protected minority. Lecture him, and send him back to his SE class.

    Barron shouldn't be teaching marksmanship.

Wow, another teacher breaking the law.

richka...There are over 20,000 teachers on the CCSD payroll. Even if 10 names were in the news, that's less than 1%. As a dedicated 30 year veteran in this district I'm much more concerned about the parents we entrust our children to.

Wow, another teacher breaking the law. Does anyone know just how many teachers/administrative staff have been arrested during the previous year? I recall that a few of them were arrested for porn and/or child molestation. Isn't it time to take a closer look at the people that we entrust our children to?

According to the story, this wacko originally was bitter about HIS car being reposessed. HIS Car? There apparently is more to this wacked-out teacher, than just slapping and shooting at a filmcrew. Because he is Hispanic, he won't be fired from his responsibility of attending to "Special Education" children. Those are the failing minority kids who don't like homeworkand have high truancy rates. Just a simple misunderstanding, from a violent guy. All will be forgiven.

Wonder if they go that on video? Will make a great episode. Better if he actually hit someone though. Next time maybe..I'm sure the producers are planning how to make this possible now that they see the full potential of their concept.

Maybe they can get the local gangs to let them do ride alongs as they search for helpless victims to shoot in gang initiations?

I mean they get to ride along on police raids now right?

    @TheMan123
How do you propose CCSD goes about preventing all 30,000 of its employees from engaging in an illegal activity? It is rare that the teachers engage in illegal activity in the school district. You might hear about a handful of cases each year. Let's do the math. If even 100 teachers out of the 18,000 teachers were involved in illegal activity, then that is less than 0.5% of the staff. How is CCSD supposed to identify that tiny group of teachers making foolish decisions? Where is the funding going to come from for the policing of every teacher or employee in the school district?

I am glad he fired shots at the TV scumbags who exploit people's misery for PROFIT.
