CARSON CITY -- Nevada has been chosen for a federal cybersecurity program that assists communities in assessing their cybersecurity awareness and preparing for problems.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security program was announced Wednesday by Gov. Brian Sandoval in Carson City.

Clark County and the Washoe County-Carson City area were selected to participate.

Administered by the Texas-based Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security, the 14-month training and exercise program focuses on community cybersecurity prevention, response and recovery.

That's scarey. Nothing is wrong and the government is coming to help. - Administered by the Texas-based Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security and no other than Homeland Security driving the rig. Good Lord Mabel, and right here in River City.

I wonder if this training includes monitoring private citizens email accounts, Facebook etc? I have nothing to feel guilty about but I remember the Bush era and that monitoring went way over the line constitutionally. Let's keep an eye on this story.
