Strip will close at 6:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve

Las Vegas police announced Tuesday that the Strip will be closed to vehicular traffic at 6:30 p.m. New Year's Eve.

The Strip will be closed between Sahara Avenue and Russell Road.

It will reopen early Saturday after the revelers clear the roadway.
