We're filling the notebook with Twitter traffic about the caucuses because the overload of snark was a notebook writer's dream come true.
@fivethirtyeight (New York Times blogger Nate Silver) New rule: if you don't turn enough people out to fill your state's largest football stadium, you lose early voting status.
(UNLV's Sam Boyd Stadium seats 36,800. The GOP caucus turnout was 32,894.)
@ashleypowers (Los Angeles Times Las Vegas bureau chief Ashley Powers) Precinct 1721 kicked me out. Leader wrongly told crowd I wasn't allowed to be there. They booed me & called me a spy. #nvcaucus rules!
@fivethirtyeight (New York Times blogger Nate Silver) Nevada GOP to release Clark County results just as soon as it figures out why Mike Tyson's tiger is in their bathroom.
@mollyesque (former R-J reporter Molly Ball, now with The Atlantic) Trying to find a non-obscene-sounding way to accuse NV GOP of being a bunch of caucus-suckers.
The Twitter hashtag #thingsfasterthannvgop took off when it became clear the vote counting was going a bit ... slow. Here is a sample of tweets suggesting things that might take less time than the caucus count:
@SteveSebelius (Review-Journal columnist Steve Sebelius) Formation of solar systems.
@ChrisMillerNV (Clark County Democratic Party chairman Chris Miller) Finding DB Cooper.
@oskargarcia (Associated Press reporter Oskar Garcia) OK, I'll contribute one. Filming an episode of Gumby.
@mjmishak (Los Angeles Times reporter Michael Mishak) The Second Coming of Christ.
@RGJRayHagar (Reno Gazette-Journal reporter Ray Hagar) Decay of Uranium.
@schwartznews (Las Vegas Sun reporter David Schwartz) A Jim Gibbons political comeback.
