LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
A 32-year-old woman who was seriously wounded in a shooting at a northeast valley house party last weekend continued to fight for her life Thursday night at University Medical Center.
A hospital official said Karen Sinatra was in critical condition.
Las Vegas police initially reported she was critical after the early morning shooting Sunday.
At a Tuesday news conference, police said she was stable.
Betty "Jay" Pinkney, a 17-year-old senior at Desert Pines High School, was killed in the shooting.
Police said the shooting occurred about 12:45 a.m. at a home in the 4200 block of Tattersall Place, near Craig Road and Lamb Boulevard.
Dozens of teen revelers were at the party when a group of partygoers began arguing. The group was kicked out of the home, and the argument continued outside. Shortly after, bullets were sprayed toward the home.
Police said Pinkney was struck when a bullet went through a wall. Sinatra, a resident of the home, was upstairs when she was struck by gunfire.
Police said they think that neither Pinkney nor Sinatra was an intended target in the shooting.
As of Thursday night, police hadn't announced any arrests in the case.
Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or leave anonymous tips with Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.

it takes a great amount of skill, courage and bravery to shoot into an occupied dwelling, killing and injuring innocent people. Hopefully the shooter will use those skills to put the gun to his/her/their head(s) and pull the trigger, saving the community from ghetto scum like him/her/them. Hopefully arrests are made soon. What a waste...
As I'm reading these comments you people are scary and heartless. A beautiful 17 yr old with a bright future life has ended and another is recovering from serious injuries. Instead of showing any feeling of compassion you post words filled with judgement and bigotry... Shame on you.
So in other words she remains shot?
Thanks for the update.
If that party was as loud like others in the N. East it could have co been anyone. They play their boom boom (music?) so loud that neighbors cant sleep for almost a half mile around. They Peas off a lot of people. Perhaps a neighbor went postal? Sad thing for the victims and their families. I taught my kids that once you pull the trigger you can't stop the bullet or any of the the consequences that it creates.
"Sinatra, a resident of the home"......... Well, she knows who was there. She should be speaking to Metro now. How well will you be able to live knowing that you could hold a critical piece of evidence in a murder investigation. Think about the fact that your gang banger friends did not care that you were hit. You were just another notch in their waistband. So sda to see such a beautiful young lady living this life.
Karen Sinatra? What a Vegas name. Didn't she sing "these boots are made for walking"? I wish her a speedy recovery.
...honestly, though. I am the type of guy that throws hotdog down hallways. :(
Just another day in da ghetto!!
