Woman killed in single-vehicle North Las Vegas crash identified

A North Las Vegas woman who died Sunday after a single-vehicle crash was identified Monday.

Sandra Metz, 52, from North Las Vegas, died about 3 p.m. after her vehicle crashed into a drainage ditch at Clayton Street and Ranch House Road in North Las Vegas.

Metz was thrown from the vehicle and suffered severe head injuries, North Las Vegas police said. She died at University Medical Center.

This was the first fatal accident in North Las Vegas this year.

    According to metro police, speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
