LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
Las Vegas police said a 30-year-old woman was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a pickup.
Police said the woman was hit in a crosswalk at Eastern and Cedar avenues about 7:30 a.m.
The truck was driven by 51-year-old Florencio Reyes-Rivera, police said. Reyes-Rivera was driving a 1984 Ford F-150 south on Eastern.
He was in the left-hand turn lane to eastbound Cedar. The woman was on the east sidewalk of Eastern, crossing Cedar from south to the north in a marked crosswalk. While turning east onto Cedar, the pickup struck the woman, police said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The fatality marked the sixth traffic-related death in 2012 under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.
The Clark County coroner's office will release the victim's name.
The incident remains under investigation.

I have noticed that when there is a green light with a green left arrow there is a green man for the crosswalk dircetly in the path of those turning left. Situation in this accident. Is there a way this can be changed? Maybe o to an ALL red Light at intersections so pedestrians can cross safely?
Just wondering why Henderson Officer Wavie Reed has not been charged for his role in the death if pedestrian cross the street in a cross walk last year?
@irishfighter ..'I never see pedestrians looking for on coming traffic" Obviously you aren't paying attention like you should, probably drunk like every other Irishman, and should have your license revoked.
Sad to hear that a young woman lost her life. Prayers go out to her loved ones. I avoid that part of Eastern Ave every chance I get because there are several crosswalks on that street that I feel are dangerous, with everyone driving so crazy down there. Regardless of who is in the right or wrong we need to look out for each other. Make sure that everyone makes it home alive and safe at the end of the day.
Cars are sneaky. You can never see them comming.
When I was riding a motorcycle I learned that there are people driving cars and trucks who can look directly at you and still not see you. You eventually develop a sense of when someone coming toward you is going to make a left turn directly in front of you. More properly, you develop that sense if you live long enough.
Wow, where are the paragons of sympathy and compassion saying that "she deserved it," for not obeying the law?
It seems I see dead pedestrians every 3 to 5 days in the valley
The F-150s have gone mad this week
First of all, EVERYONE in Nevada already knows. Metro NEVER finds the driver at fault in a Auto/Ped accident. Even when drivers had literally ran up on sidewalks and into bus stops killing people. Metro had a very hard time going against the driver. So if you want to murder someone in Las Vegas? Its really simple! Just run them over with your car (or have a friend do it) and it will be ruled as a Ped/Auto accident. You are guaranteed to get away with it. Secondly, if anyone wants to know what rights pedestrians have in Nevada. That's just as simple. Pedestrians have one right and one right only in the state of Nevada. And that is the right to DIE!
I never see pedestrians looking for on coming traffic, they just walk out in the roadway/crosswalk hopping everything will be OK. So was the driver charged for failing to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk, no drivers license, and no insurance?
