These guys run into burning buildings to save your big screen TV and your mad because they get paid to do it. Can anyone show me a city as large as Clark County with volunteer service? It doesnt exist. Ok then cut that overtime Geoffrey Lawrence and maybe it might be someone you love that needs help and because theres a few less men/women on duty it might take a 1 extra minute to get there and that minute just might be the difference between your loved one living and not seeing another day.

(some more some less) Don't forget that they are working a 56 hour week for STRAIGHT PAY. Everybody else goes to time and a half after 40 hours a week. Consider the cost of hiring enough fire fighters and you'll see that the taxpayers are getting a deal.
Move to a city that has a volunteer fire dept. Call 911 at 1:00 a.m. on Christmas eve because you are having a heart attack. I'll bet you'd wish there were higher trained firefighters sleeping at the local fire station. I bet you wouldn't care what you'd have to pay them.

These guys aren't homeless, these guys are volunteering as a second job, to help their community.

You're too busy humping the leg of your fire chief to realize these guys are even bigger heroes. They don't get paid $100,000 a year, they don't even get a dime for sleeping on the job.

No wonder you attack volunteer firefighters. Its not about the job these people do, that is just a bunch of rhetoric to scare people into being as irrational as you, its about the money.

By the way, defending the job a person does just because of the service they provide is irrational and illogical. You could get yourself in a whole lot of trouble defending something just because it made you feel good, or patriotic, or because they do good work.

Its why teachers in Nevada work 10 months out of the year, recycle lesson plans, and get paid an average of $45,000 a year with little to no chance of being fired, wonderful healthcare benefits, and an over the top pension plan that requires like 5 years to be vested, are considered underpaid. People like you won’t take the time to ask the hard questions because people like you are there to verbally abuse and intimidate anyone who disagrees.
