The real agenda of Barack Obama
I was Barack Obama's college classmate at Columbia University, Class of '83. We were both pre-law and political science majors (although strangely, I never met him, saw him or even heard of him). That gives me a unique understanding of his mind-set. You see, virtually every classmate I ever got to know at Columbia was either obviously or openly a radical socialist or Marxist.
My classmates -- virtually to a man and woman -- hated America and considered capitalism to be evil. They loved unions and hated business owners. They hated conservatives and capitalists most of all, because anyone who defended the system was an enemy to this group of radicals. Even more disturbing was their open hatred toward white people and what they called "this racist nation" -- even though most of my classmates were white.
Psychiatrists would have a field day with my Ivy League classmates -- all spoiled brat, lucky-sperm-club members guilty of being born to white, privileged, wealthy parents and having every advantage and every door opened their whole lives.
Isn't it interesting that I was the only blue-collar S.O.B. (son of a butcher) at Columbia, yet I was the one who loved America, valued capitalism and knew that I'd one day become a successful businessman in this great country? The young conservative started with nothing, yet knew in America anything was possible. And the leftist radicals were born with everything, yet hated America, and felt guilt and rage for their privilege.
Most importantly, they all had the same goal: to bring down the capitalist system and redistribute the wealth. They all read from the same playbook, written by Karl Marx. So when I heard one of my classmates was running for president of the United States, I knew instantly that America was in deep trouble. I knew that well-meaning, patriotic Americans would give the benefit of the doubt to a radical like Obama. I knew they'd be fooled by Obama's smile, handshake, baby-kissing and claims to be a "moderate uniter, not divider."
They'd be impressed by his Ivy League pedigree from Columbia, Harvard Law School and the University of Chicago. I knew they'd never guess at his real agenda -- to overwhelm the system, bring down capitalism, enrich the poor by destroying the rich, and destroy everything that made America great. If you hadn't known these people up close and personal, you'd never guess that an Ivy League lawyer wearing a fancy suit could possibly believe in such radical, anti-American, Marxist madness.
But there's something else you need to know about my classmates at Columbia -- the dysfunctional rage and hatred they harbor toward anyone who disagrees with them. People like Obama hide it well, but it's always there, simmering just below the surface. That's why they so despised Ronald Reagan -- he represented all the things they wanted destroyed: patriotism, conservatism and capitalism. My ultra-liberal classmates despised Reagan so much, they openly rooted for his death.
I was a witness to that abnormal hatred on the day Reagan was shot by a mentally ill assassin in 1981. A student burst through the doors to our political science class to breathlessly announce that "Reagan is dead. He's been assassinated." The reaction of my class? Celebration. They jumped from their seats to cheer, high-five, fist-pump, hug each other, and even scream, "Yes! Reagan is dead!"
I couldn't believe what I'd just witnessed. To socialist Ivy Leaguers, Reagan's limited-government, low-tax views merited the death penalty.
These classmates of mine seemed normal in every way -- except for their obsession with killing capitalism, wanting big government to take over business, and stealing wealth in the name of "fairness." Other than that, you'd swear they were normal. They looked good, they were well-spoken, they were brilliant intellectuals, and they possessed incredible resumes. To any normal person who met them, they represented the American Dream.
But their goal is to destroy America.
These are the people now running the country. My classmates, with their unnatural hatred of fiscal conservatives, anyone who runs a business, or anyone who wants to keep more of their own money, have now gone on to great things. As I read of their exploits in Columbia's alumni magazine, it is clear that my classmates now enjoy success in the most influential fields in this country -- law, media and politics. One of them now runs the country.
There, my friends, is the crux of the economic disaster now facing America -- virtually every problem in this country can be traced to the ignorance, arrogance, prejudice and dysfunction of lawyers, the biased liberal media and politicians who understand nothing about entrepreneurship, capitalism, small business or job creation. They have an unnatural hatred of all the very things that make America great.
Now that you understand the real Obama agenda, is it any wonder our country is in crisis, our economy is in ruins, and our future survival as the world's greatest superpower is threatened?

Every one of those traitors that cheered when Reagan was shot, should themselves be shot for being traitors.Reagan was the greatest president this country ever had.Every one of those anti america scumbags should be deported to Iran.Every liberal college should be closed as they are nothing but a breeding grounds for sex crazed, drug addicted terrorists.And the anti american liberal news media should be shut down.I hope every real american sends a copy of Mr. Roots column to everyone they know.We must remove the scourge in the white house.
I just recieved an email leading me to Mr. Root's column. After reading it and many of the comments, Im questioning my disbelief in an email I recieved a few weeks ago. I just copied the author's name and title of her two entries.
If B.O.'s intentions are as evil as we've heard, then Ms. Barnhardt's perspective must be true...or atleast feasible.
I would love to hear Mr. Root's perspective on the death of SEAL Team 6 members.

I've seen the same in Cambridge Mass. There was a disease that infected the elite and their habitat during the 60's and 70's. The editors of Rampart and Mother Jones articulated it, and the professors at professional schools taught it.
All one has to do is read the writings or watch the teachings of Obama's political mentors--Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Emil Jones, Democratic leader of the Illinois state senate, former adviser David Axelrod, and most of all--unrepentant Weatherman Underground terrorist group founder William Ayers.
These were his people. Their ideals are well known.
Our country must endure another 21 months before we can put an end to this. We will survive it, but the damage has been--and will continue to be horrific.
And the biggest reason we allowed this mess to be inflicted upon us is because people allowed themselves to be manipulated and made to feel guilty for the crime of being born free, in the greatest nation the world has ever known.
If you doubt it, simply look around at the postings of this administrations supporters and their hostility--to your rights.
Obama is not simply inept and ineffectual--he is ideologically incapable of supporting the Constitutional oath he swore to when inaugurated. Speaking well and looking nice are not substitutes for character.
Obama is a package, presented as cover for the agenda enacted by the radical left.
It ends in 21 months, when he is defeated, and his political supporters are neutered--starting with Harry Reid, the corrupt Senator from Nevada.
Is the LVRJ so bankrupt it needs to print this nonsense? Most of the time, I reject out of hand claims that "the media is to blame" for our unpleasant circumstances. When I see an otherwise legitimate newspaper printing this stuff, I have to reconsider.
Barry is your typical ineffective politican put forward by some special interest.....he and Gerald Ford and Jimma Catta have a lot in common....
My capital L real Libertarian friends seem to buy this guy, but it sure looks like he is nothing but a plain old Republican. I understand they are desperate to get their Libertarian word out and they view Root as being a legit public face, but I just don't think watering down your views is worth it.

With that sort of thinking, I'm not surprised you would find Root's view to be "educated."
Try thinking for yourself, and quit being a sucker for these nut jobs.
Root never went to Columbia and refuses to produce his transcripts.
Some dogs bite the hand that feeds them. Confused...young...economically privileged college students are no exception...even those fortunate enough to go to a prestigious school like Columbia University. While Mr. Root states that he never met Mr. Obama while they both attended Columbia at the same time, how does Mr. Root know beyond a shallow of a doubt if Mr. Obama shared the same radical views as his (Obama's) inner circle of fellow classmates? Without some written evidence that Mr. Obama was likewise an opponent of free enterprise & capitalism during his school days at Columbia, we really don't know for sure what Mr. Obama's "real agenda" is…at least during his days at Columbia or, later, Harvard Law School. Yes, actions speak louder than words. But without proof, let’s not label Pres. Obama an enemy of our free market system. Like many other senior citizens who are dismayed at the growing "obesity" of our federal government, I look forward to voting President Obama out of office next election; however, I need to ask this question in response to your column, Mr. Root: Where's the "beef" on Mr. Obama with respect to his “real agenda”? -Tom Kordus
