Top student spellers from across the state will compete in March in the Nevada State Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The winner will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee held in the spring in Washington, D.C. The Scripps National Spelling Bee is the nation's largest and longest-running educational promotion, and its purpose is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.
