Aliante prepares to welcome American Crown Circus

Fourth annual Big Top Celebration scheduled for Oct. 13

Aliante is slated to host its fourth annual Big Top Celebration Oct. 13 at the North Las Vegas master-planned community's 20-acre Nature Discovery Park.

The circus acts will be free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature 30-minute performances by the American Crown Circus starting at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m., according to Dan Naef, senior vice president of North Valley Enterprises LLC, the developer of Aliante.

The roster of acts will include acrobats, jugglers, aerialists, balancers and clowns, Naef said.

Free tickets for the circus shows will be distributed at a registration booth in the park, beginning at 10 a.m. Other free activities to be offered during the celebration include train rides, pumpkin painting, carnival games, a 50-foot circus obstacle course, face painters, juggling clowns and a live disk jockey. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

Nature Discovery Park is located at 2627 Nature Park Drive, near the southeast corner of Aliante Parkway and Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway. To visit the park, take U.S. Highway 95 to the I-215 Exit East. Head east on I-215, exit at Aliante Parkway and proceed south.

Naef said previous performances by the American Crown Circus at Aliante have drawn thousands of residents and visitors.

"The American Crown Circus is internationally recognized for presenting exciting family entertainment at its best," Naef said. "As in the past, we are especially pleased to give the community an opportunity to come out and enjoy these performances, free of charge. It will be a wonderful event for people of all generations."

The Big Top Celebration will be sponsored by North Valley Enterprises and Aliante's home builders, which include Astoria, Del Webb, D.R. Horton, KB, Lennar, Pardee and Pulte. Home prices at Aliante range from the mid-200,000s to the low $500,000s.

Upcoming community events include an Oct. 27 Halloween Parade and Harvest Fest in which both kids and adults will be invited to show off their costumes.

To visit, take U.S. 95 to the I-215 and exit east. Make a right onto Sky Pointe Drive, a right onto Frontage Road, and then a left onto the Beltway. Head east to the Aliante Parkway exit, then go south.
