Nature Discovery Park also features three full-size soccer fields, a picnic ramada and amphitheater, lighted tennis courts, volleyball stadium, horseshoe pits and bocci ball courts.

Two area residents who are regulars at Nature Discovery Park are Ernest Avila and his 2-year-old grandson Alex Cardenas. Recently, the two were seen practicing T-ball at the park.

"We love this park and we come here as often as possible," Avila said. "It's the nicest facility of its kind in the northwest and it offers plenty for people of all ages, including the adjacent library. It's a very pleasant spot to gather, stroll along the lake, feed the ducks or just relax and take in the views."

Aliante also offers two other city parks. The 10-acre Deer Springs Park, at the southeast corner of Deer Springs Way and Aviary Way, is adjacent to Goynes Elementary School.

On the north side of the community, on Aviary Way, just north of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, is the 15-acre Aviary Park.
