D.R. Horton kicks off its "Find the Bottom" campaign today. The event, which will be held in all 40 of the builder's neighborhoods valleywide, allows buyers to select among 300 completed homes. They can fill out a one-page offer sheet, which they will present to the builder's Division President Jim Frasure on March 15 or 16. Buyers may then negotiate directly with Frasure for the best price, financing, builder concessions, incentives, closing gifts and move-in dates, Ward said.

"This promotion allows us to take a personalized approach to each buyer's needs," Frasure said. "I really enjoy meeting, assisting and thanking those people who choose D.R. Horton to build their family's home. There is certainly nothing intimidating about this experience; hopefully, we can find a home for every family that takes part in our festivities."

This past week, FHA loan limits in Clark County were raised to $400,000. FHA loans require a minimum 3 percent down payment, which means shoppers can purchase a new home priced as much as $412,371 and still qualify for a government-insured FHA loan.

The "Find the Bottom" event was suggested by D.R. Horton's sales team, Ward said.

"It gives our staff an opportunity to educate prospective buyers about the positive direction and great opportunities in this market. Today's housing values and incentives are tremendous. Those who believe that builders will continue building at current prices are badly mistaken. The valley's resale housing prices followed us on the way down, and they will follow us on the way back up. Those on the sidelines will look back and say I should have purchased in the spring of 2008."
