D.R. Horton caters to current market

D.R. Horton is featuring Find the Bottom Negotiation Sale, a promotion formatted to allow prospective buyers to negotiate directly with the company's division president.

The promotion encompasses homes from each of the builders' 40 valley locations, and is the third and final campaign designed specifically around the builder's inventory of completed homes.

  • The builder's last promotion in February, "Stimulus Weekend," generated 60 sales in three days.

The builder's inventory of completed homes has declined from more than 600 homes in January, to about 250 homes.

"Our market-leading sales pace is not surprising," director of marketing Jeff Ward said. "The Vegas market has always demonstrated a strong demand for completed homes. While other builders are positioned to only take orders for future builds, we have maintained our course by accommodating buyers within all time frames."

The current promotion was designed in response to extensive market research by D.R. Horton on a national scale.

"Our research consistently turned up the same phrase by home shoppers: 'We are waiting for the market to hit bottom'," Ward said. "Our data-base of prospects is bursting with those who are actively timing the market. Our approach is to empower those people in a transparent process whereby they can get the builder's absolute best price.

"The time is quickly approaching when builders can't replace yesterday's inventory at yesterday's price. Look for this market to find the bottom and bounce up very quickly; there is tremendous pent up demand for completed new homes."

The Find the Bottom Sale allows home shoppers to negotiate price, financing, builder concessions, incentives, closing gifts and move-in dates.

The Find the Bottom Negotiation Sale is being held in all 40 of D.R. Horton's communities and began March 8.

    BUYERS BEWARE!
Before anyone buys, or sets foot in, anything constructed by D.R. Horton, they should review customer comments regarding horton's lack of regard for customers. Having had personal contact with hortons, let me define them in a few words: liars, arrogant, abusive, I could go on-and-on, but you get the idea. Look for customer comments on the internet. The corporate culture eschews integrity, ethical behavior and performance, and most any other characteristics of desirable citizens of planet earth.
