Summerlin welcomes home buyers

Summerlin is hosting a huge open house event today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

America's Biggest Open House features more than 75 model homes in 21 neighborhoods. The event gives prospective home buyers an opportunity to tour a wide variety of model homes in a short period of time while enjoying a festive atmosphere at participating neighborhoods, according to Nikki Liesse, director of marketing for The Howard Hughes Corp., a unit of General Growth Properties Inc. and developer of Summerlin.

  • "This year, home buyers can conduct their own virtual tour of Summerlin before visiting the community during America's Biggest Open House," Liesse said. "Buyers can preselect the neighborhoods and homes they want to tour by first visiting AmericasBiggestOpenHouse.com, which is also accessible through Summerlin.com," Liesse said. "The Web site allows residents to select homes by price, location, style and builder, making their visit to Summerlin even more productive and convenient."

Participating neighborhoods are located in five villages -- The Mesa, The Paseos, Summerlin Centre, The Vistas and The Ridges.

Condominiums and homes in those villages range from 937 to nearly 6,000 square feet and are priced from the mid-$200,000s to more than $1 million.

Home styles include single-, two- and three-story homes, lofts, condominiums and townhomes.
