Realtor buys second Rhodes home

Carl Grigorian has been selling homes in Rhodes Ranch, a master-planned community in the southwest valley, since it opened.

"The first time I sold a house in Rhodes Ranch was 10 years ago," he said. "In 2000, I bought a home for myself because I liked it so much."

  • Grigorian and his wife, Arax, recently purchased their second home in the development at The Irons. The Irons is a collection of single-story homes ranging from 1,467 to 1,931 square feet.

    "Rhodes Ranch is a beautiful community," he said. "It looks nice and is well-maintained. Plus, the money paid to the association every month for maintenance and all of the wonderful amenities is very small compared to what you get."

    Monthly association fees at Rhodes Ranch are around $100 per household and provide a guard-gated entrance, common area landscaping and access to the 35,000-square-foot R-Club recreation center and Fun Zone Water Park.

    Grigorian purchased the 1931 Residence, named for its square footage, at The Irons. The single-story home includes three bedrooms, two baths, living room, family room and two-car garage.

    "I liked that it was single story because my wife and I don't like to go up and down stairs," he said. "The floor plan is really open in this home. When you walk in the front door, everything is right there."

    According to Grigorian, the 1931 Residence was well-designed to offer privacy within the open floor plan.

    "The master bedrooms and other two bedrooms are separate. I liked that very much," he said.

    Grigorian said he is a fan of Rhodes Homes because of the company's commitment to customer service and quality.

    "(Owner) Jim Rhodes did a good job here," he said. "Rhodes builds nice homes with customer service that has always been great. With every new home there are a few problems here and there. Every time I called about something, they arranged for it to be fixed right away. That commitment to service is important."

    The Irons is Rhodes Ranch's first neighborhood of all single-story homes. In addition to the Grigorians' 1931 Residence, the neighborhood features the 1467 Residence with three bedrooms, two baths and a great room.

    The 1611 Residence features four bedrooms, two baths, a great room and a walk-in closet in the third bedroom. All three homes are offered with media niches and two-car garages.

    Home prices at The Irons start in the $200,000s.

    As residents of the Rhodes Ranch master plan, The Irons homeowners have access to the 35,000-square-foot R Club recreation center with dozens of indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family. The community's Fun Zone Water Park opened last year and features eight water slides as well as a 13,000-square-foot lagoon pool.

    Standard features with all homes in The Irons include finished garages, ceiling fan prewiring in all bedrooms and common rooms, decorative 61/2-inch baseboards, rocker switches in all rooms and phone and cable outlets in all bedrooms and common rooms.

    The Irons' kitchens include a food-preparation island in the 1931 Residence, beach cabinetry with crown molding, recessed lighting, large kitchen pantries and breakfast nooks.

    The Rhodes Ranch Golf Club was designed by renowned golf-course creator Ted Robinson Jr. The par-72 course was named a Best Value by Vegas Golfer magazine.

    Rhodes Homes has built more than 6,000 homes in the Las Vegas Valley during the past two decades and is developing 16 neighborhoods throughout the city.
