Attendees also can enjoy pony rides, rock climbing on an inflatable mountain, mining for gems, udder relay races, western slide, western bounce houses and mechanical bull riding.

"From live music to our famous udder races, Country in the Park will pack an amazing amount of entertainment into what should be a wonderful afternoon of great music, delicious food and a slate of activities that will be fun for all ages," said Deonna Stocker, manager of information center operations at the Home Search Café. "Exploration Park serves as the perfect backdrop for the event, with grassy lawns where people can sit down and enjoy the music to great hiking trails for those interested in having an active day at Mountain's Edge."

Live music includes performances from the Patty Janura Band and the Tony Marques Band scheduled throughout the day, with a live broadcast from country station KWNR-FM radio, 95.5. During the broadcast, the station will give away Tracy Lawrence and Gary Allen concert tickets, as well as tickets to an upcoming performance of "High School Musical."

This event marks the second year of Country in the Park held at Mountain's Edge, with last year's festival marking the grand opening of Exploration Park attended by more than 3,500 people. Participants last year enjoyed western-themed performances and live music by local country and western bands, mechanical bull riding, line dancing lessons and an array of booths offering food and refreshments.

In addition to the entertainment and festivities at the May 3 event, attendees may enjoy the park's many amenities including wide-open grassy spaces, volleyball courts, picnic areas and horseshoe pits. The park's attractions also include trails leading to the top of Exploration Peak, the city's first mountain park.

A distinctive feature in Exploration Park is a Western Theme Park. Focus Property Group's Old West Village features building facades, climbing structures, slides and other equipment.

Dirt streets line the town square leading to play areas, including an area featuring covered wagon play structures and a replica water tower splash park that incorporates spray jets.

A series of paseos have been built to wind through Mountain's Edge, connecting residents and their neighborhoods with the community's parks and recreation areas. With several paseos already complete, the trails integrate the existing desert landscape into paths designed to be easily navigable for people of all ages.
