Summerlin has long been known for its abundant social and recreational offerings.

Recently, more than a dozen actively selling neighborhoods throughout the community have enhanced the popular neighborhood park concept on which Summerlin was built, according to Julie Cleaver, vice president of planning for The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin.

  • "The scenic open lawn parks typical of Summerlin neighborhoods are unfolding into social and recreational hotspots with added amenities including swimming pools, barbecue areas and children's play equipment," she said. "The amenities contribute to the desirability of the neighborhood, which offers a lifestyle package in addition to an address in one of the nation's most nationally recognized communities."

Currently selling neighborhoods with park and pool areas include Montage and Travata at West Park by Ryland Homes, West Park Villas and Courtyards by William Lyon Homes, Cypress and Palmilla at Allerton Park by Woodside Homes, Ladera Ridge and Ladera Crest by KB Home and Ladera Canyon by Richmond American Homes.

"Home buyers who want convenient access to social and recreational amenities are right at home in Summerlin," Cleaver said. "The community boasts more amenities than any other master-planned community in the valley with a long list of social, recreational, cultural and educational facilities -- and we still have thousands of acres left to develop. Convenient access to abundant and diverse amenities will remain a top priority as development continues."
