D.R. Horton plans price reduction

D.R. Horton Homes recently announced a massive price reduction on over 100 Las Vegas and Laughlin area homes for the weekend of May 31-June 1, marketing director Jeff Ward said.

Marketed as the "Great $!@&%# Price Sale," this promotion will feature pricing by the home builder not offered since 2004, according to Ward. The sale will include homes located within all 38 of D.R. Horton's Las Vegas Valley neighborhoods, and in five Horton communities in Laughlin.

  • "This is certainly not our typical promotion," Ward said. "Our events are based on the input of focus groups, and this month we heard a lot of what we like to call 'construction language.' Shoppers told us in no uncertain terms that they are tired of the incentives and spiffs which are currently fashionable amongst the valley's home builders. Prospective buyers have voiced a consistent message, which is, 'We will buy when you offer a great $!@&%# price.' As a result, D.R. Horton will reduce pricing for one weekend, made possible by applying advertising dollars directly to price reductions rather than extensive media buys."

D.R. Horton was named the nation's largest home builder in the May 2008 issue of Professional Builder magazine. Nationwide, the builder closed over 37,000 home sales in 2007.

For more than 10 years, D.R. Horton has been a Las Vegas leader in single-story homes. Twenty-two of the builder's neighborhoods showcase single-story homes ranging from 1,000 to more than 5,000 square feet. Especially popular are ranch-style floor plans featuring dual master bedrooms, Ward said.

"More and more families find themselves housing multiple family generations," he said. "Our 2350 and 2550 dual master floor plans have been a huge hit for families with grown children or those who have invited their parents to move in."

In the past seven years, D.R. Horton has unveiled a line of condominium floor plans commonly referred to as triplexes. Initially offered in the builder's San Diego communities, triplexes are affordable and feature attached garages and amenity-rich communities with swimming pools, Ward said.

Triplexes are typically available in the Ranch communities of D.R. Horton's Las Vegas division, which offer multiple model complexes at a wide range of prices beginning in the mid-$100,000s.

D.R. Horton has more than 100 homes ready for immediate move-in, according to Ward. Prices on all these homes will be greatly reduced for the "Great $!@&%# Price Sale." Models of these homes may be viewed at the builder's communities in Las Vegas and Laughlin.
