Aliante holds fundraising event in Discovery Park for medical assistance

On Sept. 13, Nature Discovery Park in Aliante, a North Las Vegas master-planned community, served as the venue for the first Annual Family Fun Day/Fundraising Picnic for Medtyme Emergency Medical Relief Association. Visitors spent the day enjoying refreshments and entertainment, while becoming familiarized with the nonprofit organization's devotion to supporting individuals who are in need of medical assistance, but do not have the necessary health care insurance or resources.

"We are very pleased with the turnout we had, which enabled us to let more people in need know that help is here," said Rosalind Jamerson-Cobb, founding director of MEMRA and a resident of Aliante. "Based on the level of interest and enthusiasm this event generated, we expect our cause to begin reaching more people in the community than ever. We have also been pleased with the support we have already received from the public -- both monetary and through the donation of medical equipment such as hospital beds and other greatly needed items."
