  • The 25-acre park, developed by Pardee and dedicated to the city of North Las Vegas, is named for the late North Las Vegas Mayor James Seastrand.

"The Northern Exposure run and walk at Eldorado has become another popular tradition in North Las Vegas that attracts participants from the entire Las Vegas Valley," said Pardee Homes Southern Nevada Division President Klif Andrews. "Pardee remains committed to Eldorado, where we developed Seastrand Park and donated it to the City in 2000. It is important for this company to support community events such as this and the annual Independence Day Jubilee."

The 10K Race course winds through the developing communities of America's second-fastest growing large city. More than $3,000 in cash and prizes will be distributed to the top three overall winners, male and female, top two in the masters divisions, male and female, and top three in each age division, male and female.

The Two-Mile Family Run/Walk is a separate course that's ideal for families and participants with strollers. Both courses wind through Eldorado, developed by Pardee beginning in 1990.

There will be live music and entertainment, food vendors, a health fair and more. For more information call 633-2650 or visit active.com.

Registration for the 10K is $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger. It is $30 on the day of the event and includes an official race T-shirt. Registration for the Two-Mile Family Run/Walk is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. Entry forms can be picked up at the North Las Vegas Neighborhood Recreation Center, 1638 N. Bruce St. or Silver Mesa Recreation Center, 4025 Allen Lane. Proceeds from the race will benefit North Las Vegas Parks & Recreation programs.

The Eldorado community includes an elementary school named in honor of the late Pardee executive Lee Antonello, the Seastrand and Eldorado parks, a fire station and nearby shopping centers. Current Pardee Homes' neighborhoods in North Las Vegas include San Rafael, Springdale and Autumn Ridge in Aliante, Riverstone at Prescott Park, and Northpointe and Horizon, located between Eldorado and Aliante.

Sales office hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday at all Pardee neighborhoods. For more information visit pardeehomes.com.
