Pardee Homes is offering large homes with big yards at Solamar, a new neighborhood opening this weekend at Vista Verde in northwestern Las Vegas.

"Solamar represents an unique opportunity for families to 'live large' at an attractive price in a Pardee-planned community," said Rob Tuvell, regional sales director for Pardee Homes.

  • "These EnergySmart homes feature spacious one- and two-story floor plans that range in size from approximately 2,491 square feet to approximately 3,152 square feet with up to five bedrooms, and offer a great northwest valley location that is near the 215 Beltway and U.S. 95, new stores and services."

Home sites at Solamar average 7,000 square feet and home prices are anticipated to start from the high $200,000s, Tuvell said.

"Solamar floor plans accommodate a wide range of attractive options, like a billiards room, home theater, hobby room, loft and more," Tuvell said. "You won't have to leave home for entertainment."

After a tour of Las Vegas new homes during the recent International Builders Show, Sarah Yaussi, the executive editor of BigBuilder magazine, reported that Solamar's Plan Four, "is truly a fantastic floor plan, perfect for people like me who love to entertain. At roughly 3,000 square feet, the two-story plan has one of the best open kitchen/great room layouts I've seen."

As an EnergySmart neighborhood, homes at Solamar are enhanced with money-saving and energy-efficient features, such as spectrally selective glass to keep the homes cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, and ceiling insulation and sealed ducts for improved air quality, according to Tuvell.

In addition, each EnergySmart home is independently certified to assure that it exceeds energy code requirements, Tuvell said.

Pardee Homes has won national awards for its green-building efforts and was one of the first home-building companies in the region to embrace the idea.

Among the new floor plans at Solamar is the single-story Plan One, which measures 2,491 square feet with up to four bedrooms and 21/2 baths. Plan Two is also a single-story plan that measures about 3,000 square feet with up to four bedrooms and three baths.

Two-story plans at Solamar include Plan Three, which measures up to 2,931 square feet with up to five bedrooms and three baths, and Plan Four, measuring up to 3,152 square feet with up to five bedrooms and three baths.

Located in Centennial Hills, Vista Verde is close to Mt. Charleston and Lee Canyon, as well as Silver Stone Golf Club, Mountain Ridge Park and Las Vegas' Extreme Sports Park and the new Centennial Hills Hospital.

To visit the Solamar neighborhood, from U.S. Highway 95 north, exit to Interstate-215, the Las Vegas Beltway, west. Exit Durango Drive and turn right. Turn left on Deer Springs Way, right on Grand Canyon Drive, then right on Bay Ledge Avenue to the models.

Visitors are welcome from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. For more information, call 396-3148, or visit pardeehomes.com.
