D.R. Horton to hold sales event

The Las Vegas division of D.R. Horton Homes has announced the follow-up event to its successful Builder Short Sale, which was held in January. The two-day sale event, which is scheduled for April 25 and 26, is billed as Builder Short Sale II, "The Sequel with No Equal."

"We figured why tinker with success," said marketing director Jeff Ward.

  • D.R. Horton will offer more than 60 model homes with designer features in Las Vegas and Laughlin neighborhoods. In addition, the model homes are landscaped and may feature built-ins, custom furniture and window treatments, according to Ward.

"The Builder Short Sale cleaned me out," Elkhorn Ponderosa sales agent Lori Pellman said. "We sold every remaining home in the community last time, and this time I'm selling our beautiful models. The Short Sale campaigns are the best thing for the home-buying public since the three-car garage."

In addition to these model homes, the Builder Short Sale II will focus on completed or nearly completed homes for buyers looking to move into their new home in the near future. These homes will be offered at pricing competitive with short sale and foreclosed homes in the market, Ward said.

He said D.R. Horton will not publish new pricing prior to the event, but does promise price reductions in the builder's 30 Las Vegas neighborhoods and five Laughlin developments.

"We continue to enhance our homes with the industry's hottest new features and continue to renegotiate our construction costs," Ward said.

"These refinements in conjunction with our commitment to remain the valley's best selling home builder are the genesis for fabulous new prices and incentives for the Builder Short Sale II, The Sequel with No Equal."

D.R. Horton neighborhoods can be identified by the eye-catching signage featuring Hollywood actor Verne Troyer, who is the iconic face behind the promotion.

The builder also recently published a single-story portfolio of their homes and a Las Vegas home-finding map. Home shoppers may request these items through the builder's concierge at 501-6301, or online at DRHorton.com/lasvegas.

"Our goal is to satisfy home shoppers who have grown weary of viewing and bidding on abandoned, foreclosed and bank-owned properties. It doesn't take long for home shoppers to realize that purchasing a distressed property is a difficult, time-intensive and frustrating experience. There are some great deals out there, but the majority of them are best suited for investors (who) have the experience and cash reserves to bring a home back to living standards," said Dave Reid, broker of CH Realty.

"Many of our recent clients have done the value equation for themselves and recognize the merit in purchasing a spotless new home with a builder warranty, which isn't burdened with hidden costs."

Prospective homebuyers and Realtors who are interested in attending the Builder Short Sale II may obtain information at any D.R. Horton neighborhood in Las Vegas and Laughlin, or online at BuilderShortSale.com, or by contacting the D.R. Horton Concierge at 501-9301.
