Builder Short Sale II starts today

Beginning at 10 a.m. today, the Las Vegas division of D.R. Horton Homes will open its doors for the Builder Short Sale II. Billed as "the sequel with no equal," the promotion is designed to place the builder's supply of move-in ready homes in direct competition with repossessed and short-sale properties throughout the valley, according to sales manager Jeff Ward.

More than 150 homes that have been completed or are under construction are available, he said. D.R. Horton will offer more than 60 model homes for sale.

"These models are loaded with design center upgrades," Ward said.

He said the homes are fully landscaped and feature built-ins, custom furniture and some plans have window treatments. In many cases they will be sold fully furnished.

"The original Builder Short Sale cleaned me out," said St. Rose Court sales agent Carla Hubay. "We had communities where buyers were lining up at the door before we even opened. This time I'm selling our beautiful models right next to the pool. The Realtor community knows that D.R. Horton promotions mean serious savings for serious homebuyers."

Ward said the Builder Short Sale II will offer price reductions in all 30 Horton neighborhoods across the Las Vegas Valley, as well as D.R. Horton's five Laughlin neighborhoods. These subdivisions can be identified by the signage featuring Hollywood actor Verne Troyer, who is the iconic face behind the promotion.

"We figured why tinker with success," Ward said.

Interested parties can access the complete list of available homes at BuilderShortSale.com. Event pricing will be posted at noon today.

D.R. Horton is offering 36 single-story model homes during the event. The Estates series, which range from 2,550 to 3,350 square feet, is available at Wigwam Estates in the southwestern valley, and Riverwalk Estates and Bavaria Estates in the northwestern valley.

The Ponderosa series is also a collection of single-story homes. They range from 3,350 to 3,800 square feet. The models at both Elkhorn Ponderosa and Log Cabin Ponderosa are available for purchase.

D.R. Horton recently published the Single Story Portfolio, which gives information about its single-story neighborhoods, and a Las Vegas home-finding map. Home shoppers may request these items online at DRHorton.com/lasvegas.
