Centex recognizes community heroes

Centex Homes' neighborhood of Cantura in North Las Vegas offers easy access to Nellis Air Force Base and an incentive that gives military members a 3 percent discount on a new home, according to sales agent Stacy Valenzuela.

"It's very appealing that our homes are single-story, energy-efficient and situated on pool-sized lots, most measuring 6,000 square feet," Valenzuela said.

  • Under the Centex Heroes program, active, reserve, retired or veteran military members receive a 3 percent discount on the purchase of a new home. The discount applies to the base price of any new Centex home throughout Las Vegas, and may be combined with other incentives. Home buyers employed as educators, law enforcement personnel, firefighters and health care providers are also eligible, according to Valenzuela.

Cantura offers three single-story floor plans, priced from the $270,000s. At 1,664 square feet, the Aria plan includes a master suite with bath and walk-in closet. Two secondary bedrooms are joined by a Jack-and-Jill bath. Other structural highlights include a great room, island kitchen and nook, pantry and dining room. The 1,837-square-foot Sonata has four bedrooms, two baths, great and dining rooms and pantry. The 1,895-square-foot Concerto includes five bedrooms, two baths, great and dining rooms and kitchen with pantry and island workstation.

Upon completion, Cantura will include 294 home sites. About 35 homes remain available, according to Valenzuela.

"We have immediate move-ins through September closings and several homes can still be customized with buyers' choices for countertops, flooring and cabinets."
