Bettelheim and her membership team works with residents to host private social outings and seminars and arrange for members to take advantage of the resort's many public events, including outdoor concerts such as the May 18 Stars On the Lake performance by John Legend.

Bettelheim, who previously operated a membership program for more than 2,000 at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, Ariz., arranges benefits and outings for members of The Club at Lake Las Vegas, a group consisting solely of property owners at the resort. Membership in The Club is included by many Lake Las Vegas builders with the purchase of a home.

The Club provides access to concierge services, a fitness center with full schedule of classes, an outdoor pool and private beach and preferred golf at The Falls, designed by Tom Weiskopf, or Reflection Bay, designed by Jack Nicklaus.

Resident Pamela McMillan said her favorite aspect of living at the Mediterranean-inspired resort isn't just having her home and guest casita, but the lifestyle options.

"I love the peacefulness and tranquility of the resort," she said.

"Anyone can buy a large, beautiful home, but it's all about lifestyle here at Lake Las Vegas."

Recent activities at the lake included some events that were open to the public with member add-ons, and others planned for club members exclusively.

The resort community on a 320-acre lake offers 19 neighborhoods with homes priced from the mid-$400,000s to $1.6 million.

The 3,592-acre resort located 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip offers three championship golf courses, a casino, full-service marinas and a retail village with restaurants and boutiques.

To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, east until the freeway ends and the road becomes Lake Mead Parkway. Continue east on Lake Mead Parkway to Lake Las Vegas Parkway, turn left and follow signs to the Information Pavilion.

The pavilion is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Saturday when it opens at 10 a.m. and Sunday when it closes at 4 p.m.
