"Downtown Las Vegas is the new place to be and juhl residents will be right in the heart of the action," Gustafson said. "The juhl site is surrounded by great restaurants, clubs, galleries and entertainment and within walking distance of year-round special events such as the Grand Prix."

With as many as 100,000 people in attendance, the three-day Grand Prix event in early April included rock concerts, extreme sports demonstrations, a celebrity poker tournament and championship boxing.

The opening event of the 2007 Champ Car World Series was run along a 2.44-mile, 12-turn racing circuit that took drivers past the World Market Center and Fremont Street casinos.

"This debut Grand Prix was one of the largest events ever held in downtown Las Vegas, generating an estimated $77 million in revenues throughout downtown and surrounding areas and an additional $3.8 million in state and local tax revenues," Gustafson said. "As the dynamic revitalization of downtown Las Vegas continues, high-profile events of all types will continue to expand its cultural, entertainment and sports horizons only moments from juhl."

The opening of entertainment, club and restaurant venues is another part of the downtown resurgence. The Brass Lounge and The Griffin, both located on Fremont Street, recently made their debuts.

The juhl development will include one- and two-bedroom floor plans, ranging from 730 to 2,200 square feet, with island kitchens appointed with granite countertops, maple cabinetry and General Electric appliances. Residences feature private patios or balconies, energy-efficient air-conditioning and heating systems and high-speed Internet access. Prices start from the high $300,000s.

CityMark has partnered with Creative Touch Interiors design center to provide free design consultation for residents.

The development will feature a two-story fitness center, a landscaped rooftop courtyard with pool and spa, gated underground parking and 24,000 square feet of retail space. Move-ins are scheduled to begin in spring 2008.
