Selected Rhodes Homes purchasers leave décor choices to experts

Glynda Rhodes, vice president of interior and architectural design for Rhodes Homes, started her own comprehensive design company, i.d. Interior Design (ID), in 2004 to streamline the design process. She brought her unique décor visions to Rhodes Homes' models and other Las Vegas and Arizona projects for various clients.

"I was managing all Rhodes' interior design firms that were completing the models and recreation centers and thought it would be easier to open my own firm and direct the look of the models that way," Rhodes said.

  • "A lot of Rhodes Homes' buyers see the models and like what they see. They ask if we can make their home look like the model. Of course, we then work directly with the client to design something completely unique for them according to their own vision and inspiration."

The company works with a variety of design preferences, such as contemporary, traditional, country, Art Deco, Shaker, modern, craftsman, English, French, southwest, and eclectic. I.D. specializes in turn-key designing, meaning the home is ready the moment the buyer moves in.

"My philosophy of design is based on my love of color and texture," Rhodes said. "I start my designs with color, then add contrasting textures and colors and top it off with the activating color to set off the design. I have fun with it and go by instinct a lot of the time."

Rhodes takes a hands-on approach to gathering ideas and materials for her design concepts, specializing in windows, paint and closet organization. She works with fabric, art and furniture, paying special attention to making sure the overall effect is harmonious. A variety of textures, wall art, décor, plants, and artfully arranged vases and art objects make her interiors reflect her own sense of style.

ID Interior Design has created interiors for most of the Rhodes Homes communities currently selling homes. These include the stand-alone neighborhoods of West 57th and X-it; the Montebello, La Piazza, La Luna I and Fiori neighborhoods in the Henderson master-planned community Tuscany Residential Village; and the Pacific Mist neighborhood in the southwest Las Vegas master-planned community of Rhodes Ranch.

ID Interior Design is a one-stop design center for residential and builder projects. The company is located at 5564 S. Fort Apache Road, Suite 110.
