Retired couple find value, comfort at Richmond American's Moreno Valley

After comparing homes and builders throughout Las Vegas, Paul and Mirella McClain narrowed down their search to Richmond American.

"We started out looking on the Internet by searching for affordable price ranges," Paul said. "This saved us time and allowed us to compare builders.

  • We found Richmond American and started looking at homes in the northern area of Las Vegas. Out of all the builders we sat down with, their representative was really understanding of our fixed income situation since we're retired. We felt like they were really trying to work with us. They also offered the VA loan program, which was a plus. In our search, we found that no one else compared to Richmond American."

After looking at several different communities, the McClains decided that Moreno Valley was a perfect place to call home. "We knew we wanted to live in the north, and we liked the fact that this community is not directly off a busy street," Paul McClain said.

The couple chose the Soledad, a two-story home with three bedrooms, two baths and 1,150 square feet. The home is priced from the $230,000s.

To visit Moreno Valley and tour the model homes, take the Las Vegas Beltway to Durango and go north. Turn right on Deer Springs and follow past Grand Montecito Parkway.

Richmond American Homes is building nearly 50 new home communities throughout Las Vegas. Sales offices and model homes are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except for Friday when they open at noon. Richmond American refused to make repairs for weeks. New puddles of urine kept appearing on the floor in an upstairs bathroom. Richmond American claimed "This is not new urine, it is old urine. It is so hot in here the urine has simply 'sweated' out from the walls."

I finally received help from both Darcy Spears at KVBC and the Nevada State Contractors Board.
