  • "Rhodes Ranch is a great place to live, since the community is incredibly peaceful and your stress level drops the minute you drive through the gates," he said. "After a tough day of work and training, I really appreciate being able to go home to a place where I can relax and spend time with my kids."

Heuer, a black belt and champion in Shodakan Judo, is training six days a week in order to fight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He also runs his auto customization business, teaches martial arts classes and raises two children.

"I've always been an active person, and I work hard to fill up every hour of the day by doing something positive that makes me a better athlete, businessman and father," Heuer said.

Heuer also brings his children to Rhodes Ranch's R-Club, a 35,000-square-foot recreation center to do some of his workouts, and takes the children to its brand new water park, the Fun Zone.

The R-Club has an indoor workout facility with weights and cardiovascular equipment, a full-length basketball court, two racquetball/handball courts, as well as six billiards tables.

The Fun Zone features a lagoon pool and a 10,000-square-foot water park with three speed slides, five kid slides, rope bridges, multiple squirt-gun stations and a 1,000-gallon bucket that fills and tips over every five minutes.

It also includes a 25-meter lap pool; two eight-person spas; a 12-person group spa; four large covered cabanas; one exterior lighted basketball court; two sand volleyball courts; four lighted tennis courts; and a children's playground with activity structures.

While Heuer trains to make his UFC debut, he's also committed to being an active member of the Rhodes Ranch community with plans in place to teach self-defense classes at the R-Club with a focus on teaching women and children how to defend themselves.

"Along the way in my life, people have stepped up to give me a hand, and it's important for me to do the same thing for other people," Heuer said. "I already teach two classes like this per week, and I want to extend my efforts to helping empower women and children at Rhodes Ranch to live safer lives."

A longtime resident of Las Vegas, and currently a resident of Rhodes Ranch's Travina neighborhood, Heuer plans to move to a home in The Collection neighborhood.
