StoryBook Homes joins with Energy Star Partners

Nevada Energy Star Partners, a voluntary coalition of Southern Nevada home builders, developers, retailers, mortgage providers, energy consultants and local utilities promoting energy conservation, has about 40 partners, including Las Vegas-based StoryBook Homes.

Energy Star is an important feature in every StoryBook Homes community, according to Jeff Gifford, the company's vice president of operations.

  • "From our company's inception, our focus has been to provide affordable single-family homes for Nevada families. We build homes that offer great features at a great price. Families today place immense value and pride on owning an Energy Star-rated home," he said.

All StoryBook Homes are built with radiant barrier, upgraded insulation, vinyl low-e windows, high-efficiency water heaters and R-6 insulated duct work, according to Gifford. The homes are inspected by a third party to ensure compliance with all Energy Star building standards, he said.

"As a StoryBook employee, I understand the importance of StoryBook Homes' continued commitment to building high-quality, energy-efficient homes," Gifford said. "I am proud to do my part to conserve energy and provide homeowners with an affordable housing option."

Energy Star-rated homes meet building guidelines for energy efficiency set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Energy Star-qualified homes can include a variety of features that contribute to improved home quality and homeowner comfort, in addition to lowering energy demand and reducing air pollution, according to the group's organizers.
