Rhodes Homes pledges support for Energy Star

With homeowners' increasing concerns over rising utility costs in Southern Nevada, Rhodes Homes is committed to building all of its new homes in compliance with Energy Star standards.

According to Anil Melnick, director of marketing for Rhodes Homes, Energy Star-rated homes are the best way for homeowners to reduce and manage utility expenses.

  • "Rhodes Homes' commitment to the Energy Star program is also a commitment to our buyers, as well as the environment," Melnick said. "Through this program, we can maximize the energy efficiency of our homes, reduce homeowners' energy costs, and preserve environmental resources. It's not only the right thing to do, it's a win-win for both consumers and the environment."

Melnick said that when a home consumes less energy, there are fewer pollution emissions as a result of burning fossil fuels.

"Properly designed homes immediately reduce the need for energy," he said.

Rhodes Homes meets Energy Star requirements by offering third-party inspections conducted by a certified Home Energy Rating System provider. These inspections, which are conducted multiple times throughout the construction process, include evaluations and ratings on every new home as it pertains to energy usage and consumption.

"The goal is verify and check that each home is built to Energy Star standards," Melnick said.

Rhodes Homes is a member of Nevada Energy Star Partners, a coalition of Southern Nevada home builders, developers, retailers, mortgage providers, energy consultants and local utilities promoting energy conservation.
