Centex opens model homes in Mesa Verde

Model homes are now open for tours at Centex Homes' Mesa Verde, a gated neighborhood of attached homes in North Las Vegas.

Home buyers can select from seven two-story floor plans ranging from 1,490 to 2,392 square feet with as many as four bedrooms and three baths. Layouts offer up to four living areas, a first- or second-floor owner's suite and a one- or two-space garage. The attached homes are priced from the low $200,000s.

  • Home buyers will discover floor plans with a variety of architectural highlights and room configurations, said sales agent Dennis Gregg. Some plans include a den, loft, bonus room, storage area, island kitchen and dual walk-in closets at the owner's suite.

The 1,832-square-foot plan has a split-level design with a balcony. The owner's suite, great room, dining room and kitchen are located upstairs. The first floor includes two bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet. One has patio access.

"The location is fantastic," Gregg said. "With gas prices as expensive as they are, people are looking for a shorter commute. Most new, affordable communities are on the outskirts of town, but not Mesa Verde. We offer good access to frequently traveled roads and practically every franchise that comes to mind, but we're not right on top of them."

Mesa Verde's first closings are scheduled for this fall and Gregg said there's still time for home buyers to choose flooring options on many homes already under construction.

Homes are Energy Star-certified and come with Centex Homes' Two-Year Fit and Finish Warranty, which extends the normal one-year coverage to two years at no extra cost, he said.

Amenities within the gated neighborhood include a walking trail and volleyball court. Homeowner association fees are $55 monthly. Centex is offering incentives to educators, health care providers, firefighters and law enforcement personnel as well as active, reserve, retired and veteran military members.

To visit, take Interstate 15 and exit Cheyenne Avenue west. Turn right on Allen Lane, left on Colton Avenue and left into the neighborhood, following the signs to the sales office. Model homes are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except for Mondays, when they open at noon. For more information, call 631-2207 or visit centexvegas.com.
