  • "The first annual chili cook-off is a great way for people in the Las Vegas Valley to find out who's got the best recipe for chili, as well as get an opportunity to take a look at three excellent master-planned communities," said Deonna Stocker, manager of information center operations for Focus Property Group. "KB Home is always looking for fun ways to get its residents and the community involved and this is another perfect example of their efforts to bring people together."

Along with bragging rights, winners of the competition will get a trophy honoring their culinary achievement. Those interested in knowing more about the competition are invited to contact Tanya Suba of KB Home at 266-8353 or via e-mail at tsuba@kbhome.com.

When fully developed, Mountain's Edge, a 3,500-acre master plan in the southwest valley, will feature four elementary schools, two middle schools and a high school. The community will have a fire station, shopping centers, restaurants and commercial office space. The community's Home Search Café is located at the community's entrance on Buffalo Drive and Blue Diamond Road, or visit mountainsedge.com for more information. The Café is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, and can be reached at 898-5777.

Upon build-out, the 1,200-acre Providence master plan in the northwest valley will include 33 acres for parks and 10 miles of trails. In addition to the existing surrounding high schools, 63 acres have been set aside for two elementary schools and one middle school.

To learn more about Providence, call the community's information center at 433-5084. The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Inspirada in the southeast valley has designated more than 300 acres of land to parks and open space, including more than 20 miles of trails. The master plan is composed of seven villages, each of which has its own theme, such as music, athletics, dance and scientific exploration.

Inspirada is at 1890 Via Firenze in Henderson. To visit from Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, exit Eastern Avenue and head south to St. Rose Parkway. Go west on St. Rose, then turn south on Starr/Executive Airport Road and follow the signs.

The information center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For further information call 866-758-5483 or visit inspirada.com.
